4l60e will only shift manually

 · If he starts the truck in 1, it in fact is in first gear. It can be manually shifted to 2nd, 3rd, and then into 4th but will not automatically downshift if he decelerates. If it is manually downshifted, then it will downshift. My neighbor has a with a l w 4l60e auto. The engine has a rod knocking and he said the trans was stuck in low. I test drove it around the shop and he was right, but so was the price. I put a deposit on the truck because I have a fresh tbi and 4l60e auto from a 95 GMC Yukon that I thought would go right in.
