Condition is "Used". o Piper Altimatic IIIC, S/N We just did a panel upgrade in March and removed most of our existing avionics. Autopilot system was in working condition prior to removal from our aircraft, which is a Piper Saratoga, PA Created Date: 11/28/ AM. Note that the Altimatic IIIC is essentially a Century III with a different nameplate. In any event, Clark is correct -- this autopilot will not engage the glide slope unless it is in LOC or LOC BC mode, with altitude hold engaged at least some number of seconds (see the book) before intercept, and intercepting the GS from below.

Here is a century III manual available online. Section A and B have troubleshooting for the roll servo. I believe the Century III and Altimatic IIIc are. It just won't be as precise as GPSS. Having recently had my Altimatic III overhauled and a glideslope coupler installed (this was a pretty extensive/expensive ordeal, by the way) when my second G5 was added, I have a couple of thoughts on this. Properly installed, the glideslope coupler can be a pretty nice addition to the Altimatic III. PIPER.
